WhaSpy FAQ: WhatsApp Monitoring, Privacy & Safety Questions

No hype, no 'spy on anyone' myths. Clear answers on protecting your own account, spotting stalkerware, and supervising a child's WhatsApp the lawful way — through official Meta tools and consent.

Check if you're being monitored
Official channels only
We work through WhatsApp and Meta Family Center settings — no unofficial 'hacks'.
No passwords, ever
We never ask for, find, or bypass anyone's password, 2FA, or verification code.
Owner & consent only
Your own account, a consenting adult, or a minor child you're responsible for.
No false promises
We can't reveal who spied on you or recover permanently deleted chats — and we say so.

If a claim sounds like magic (remote reading, guaranteed anonymity), it's a myth — this FAQ explains why.

The terms that come up most in WhatsApp privacy questions — tap any chip for a plain-English definition.

Stalkerware
Covert monitoring software installed on a phone to spy on its owner — illegal to plant on someone else's device.
Linked device
A companion (WhatsApp Web/desktop) session tied to your account; you can view and remove every linked device in Settings.
End-to-end encryption
Only you and the person you message can read the content — not WhatsApp, not us, not a 'remote reader' app.
SIM swap
An attacker ports your number to their SIM to hijack verification codes; a strong reason to enable two-step verification.
WhatsApp Web
The browser/desktop version that mirrors your chats via a linked device — safe when only your own devices are linked.
Two-step verification
A PIN that WhatsApp asks for when registering your number, blocking hijack even if someone has the SMS code.

Every answer resolves to owner-only or consent-based action — never covert access to another adult's account.

FAQ

Can someone read my WhatsApp remotely without my phone?
Not by 'magic' or a remote link. WhatsApp is end-to-end encrypted, so no app or website can pull your chats out of thin air. Real risk comes from physical access to your unlocked phone (planting stalkerware) or an unauthorized linked device. Check Settings > Linked Devices, remove anything you don't recognize, and turn on two-step verification.
Do WhatsApp spy apps actually work?
The ones advertising 'read anyone's WhatsApp from their number' don't work as promised — they're typically scams that harvest your money and data, or malware. Genuine monitoring requires either being the account owner or lawful, consent-based supervision of a minor through official Meta family tools. There is no legitimate way to covertly read another adult's messages.
How do I know if my WhatsApp is being monitored?
Look for concrete signs, not gut feeling: unfamiliar entries under Linked Devices, rapid battery drain or overheating, an app you didn't install, or being logged out unexpectedly. Any single sign can be innocent. Our detection guide walks you through checking each one and removing anything unauthorized on your own device.
Can I legally watch my child's WhatsApp?
For a minor you're responsible for, supervision is generally lawful when it's age-appropriate, ideally transparent, and set up through official controls (device settings, Family Center, screen-time tools) rather than covert spyware. Laws vary by country and a child's age, and secretly monitoring another adult — including a partner — is usually illegal. See our consent-based setup guide.
Can WhaSpy tell me who has been spying on me?
No — and be wary of anyone who promises that. We can help you detect and remove stalkerware and secure your account, but identifying a specific individual behind an intrusion isn't something we (or any honest service) can guarantee. If you believe you're a victim of a crime or in danger, contact local authorities or a support hotline.
